A wonderful spot in the woods on the outskirts of Caserta/Leucio, near the Reggia di Caserta. The place is very secure and has a lockable gate. There's a house in front of the house where a member of the surgical team sleeps at night. The small square itself is about 200 meters from the house. It's well-lit, very clean, and has both trash cans and supplies. It's run by WWF Oasis. Look for the "WWF Oasis" signs as you approach. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The complex offers lovely walks in the woods and a viewpoint that offers views over the castle, across the entire Vesuvius Valley, and, on a clear day, even as far as Capri. The various phone numbers are available on their website. Proceeds benefit this WWF facility, which is run entirely by volunteers. (The entrance isn't exactly well-marked; follow the WWF signs from below; they're hidden from the top.) Narrow access with no turning space. Call to book!
