Nearby, hiking and biking are possible: 3 km away is the largest Tomb of the Giants in Sardinia; all around is the Monte Linas area, with its historic olive groves at its feet that make the town famous (one of Sardinia's main olive oil producing towns), the Perda de Pibara nature park (a former mine) and the famous Piscina Irgas waterfalls; about 10 km away are the old mines and their now-almost abandoned villages of Montevecchio and Ingurtosu; and about 25 km away are the Costa Verde, the Dune di Piscinas, and other beaches and coastlines that have remained largely untouched. About thirty kilometers away are the villages of Fluminimaggiore and Buggerru, also characterized by a long and significant mining history, beaches, and naturalistic and archaeological points of interest (don't miss the Temple of Sardus Pater in Antas, in the Fluminimaggiore area).
